My Mog Closet

So if you don’t know about Transmogrification by now, you either (A) live under a rock or (B) don’t play WoW. But, to avoid any confusion, I’ll explain it real fast. Transmogrification is the process of taking the skin of one of your pieces of gear and re-skinning it to look like one of your other pieces of gear. It’s a purely aesthetic feature that WoW players have been pining for for quite some time now. So let’s say you loved the look of your Ulduar tier of raid gear and can stand the current clown show setup of gear you are currently wearing. You’ll be able to take all your gear that you are currently wearing and make it look like your old tier. So unless you are a big fan of the mix match style of raid progression gear, you’ll always be looking your best. The catch is that you have to own the gear that you want your gear to look like. So if you want your healy mace to look like Constellus, then you’ll have to run back to Ulduar and down Hodir or Algalon and hope it drops so you own it.

So like most people, I’ve been doing a little shopping since this feature came out. So I thought I’d just share what my Paladin and Druid are going to be looking like once Transmogrification comes out.

I used to do Arena’s with my buddy Blackbear, and during the course of that I was able to procure a full set of  Relentless gladiator gear. So since I already have the full set and I love the way it looks, I’ll be ready to go when ‘mogging’ goes live. So I’ll be looking like this, only a female draenei instead.

The next set I have 0 pieces of so it will take a little work to get them all and be ready for the release of patch 4.3. I’ve always loved the ‘Thunderheart’ set for Druids. So I think I’ll have to go and procure each piece of the set so when I’m not in bear or boomkin form I’ll be stylin. Here’s a look at what it would look like, but once again I’m not a human druid, so imagine it on a Night Elf.

What are you guys going to do with your mains? I’m sure most of you are also tired of the clown suits you are currently wearing. I’m interested to see the different ideas that people are coming up with.

PS- Does anyone else find it crazy that Transmogrification was just announced yet it’s already got a nickname of “mogging”? The WoW community never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes we can all be full of some great ideas.

  2. Blegh, I’m not sure if i’ll be able to stand this new feature. old gear is for old content, and also raids and dungeons are going to look stupid with clowns running around in them. I like the fact that just from a glance at someone you can tell their level of playstyle, etc. this is a feature that I will refuse to use, and I hope blizz make a button to turn everyone’s new mogged looks off client side
